Observations

• We are beginning the sixth wave.
• Globally, the fifth wave was the first to peak lower than the previous wave, meaning we have observed lifetime-relative improvement of the pandemic spread at the global scale. This is our first long-term sign of the pandemic slowing down around the world.
• COVID-19 has been a global pandemic for 21 months.
• Total vaccine doses administered are nearly reaching the global population count. If doses were evenly spread, we’d be 96% of the way to one dose for every person in the world.
• The US is currently at an average of 1.34 vaccine doses per person.
• 58.9% of the US is fully vaccinated (2 doses)
• 27% of the world is fully vaccinated (2 doses)
